Britain's Jordanne Whiley let a lead of a set and 5-2 slip to lose in the semi-finals of the Wheelchair Tennis Masters in London.

The 22-year-old twice served for the match before losing 6-7 (4-7) 7-5 6-2 to world number three Aniek van Koot of the Netherlands.

"That's the most gutted I've ever been after a match," Whiley told BBC Sport.

She will face her Grand Slam-winning doubles partner Yui Kamiji for third place on Sunday.

Compatriot Gordon Reid lost out in the men's semi-finals after being beaten 6-1 6-2 by world number one Shingo Kunieda of Japan.

"I felt the pressure to perform and I did and had three match points and honestly I don't really know what happened," admitted Whiley.

"At that point, Aniek hit two winners and had hope and when I lost the second set it was hard to get into the third set.

"But this week I've beaten the world number one and four and was a point away from the final so I have gained confidence and I have to take that away and make sure it doesn't happen again."

Reid, who will face Maikel Scheffers of the Netherlands on Sunday in the 3rd/4th place play-off, admitted he wasn't at his best against Kunieda.

"I couldn't get my timing right and string points together and you can't do that against Shingo because he doesn't give you many opportunities," he said.

"I had chances in the first set and had game points but didn't take them. I played some good stuff but just not enough to beat him."

Daniel Valverdu (left) will no longer travel with Murray on the 2015 tour, while Mauresmo is retained

Britain's Andy Murray has retained Amelie Mauresmo as his head coach, but parted company with her assistant Daniel Vallverdu - who had been with the Scot for the past five years.

Fitness trainer Jez Green will also no longer travel with Murray in 2015.

The British number one's 2014 season ended with a 6-0 6-1 thrashing by Roger Federer at the ATP Tour finals.

"We sat down at the end of the season and decided that a change would be best for all of us," said Murray.

"This will have been a tough decision for Murray to make as both are friends: his friendship with Vallverdu dates back to their days as teenagers in a Barcelona academy. The Venezuelan has been a vital cog in the wheel over the past five years, but his role has been downgraded since Mauresmo replaced Ivan Lendl and committed to many more weeks on tour.

"Her arrival, and the manner of the announcement, caused a few ripples in the team: this decision puts Mauresmo at the very heart of everything Murray hopes to achieve in 2015."

"My off-season training and Australian Open preparations have already begun and I am very excited for the new year.

"I thank Jez and Dani for all their hard work over the years and wish them the best for the future."

Djokovic season has 'awkward end'

Novak Djokovic

Djokovic is the first player to win three ATP World Tour titles on the trot since Ivan Lendl in the 1980s

By Piers Newbery BBC Sport at O2 Arena, London Novak Djokovic admitted his season had come to an "awkward end" after Roger Federer withdrew from Sunday's ATP World Tour final in London.

Federer, 33, pulled out with a back problem after a lengthy semi-final against Stan Wawrinka on Saturday.

That left world number one Djokovic to collect the trophy before playing an exhibition set against Andy Murray.

"You cannot blame Roger. I'm sure he would play the World Tour finals if he could," said Djokovic, 27.

"This is probably the first time in history that this happens. It's a very awkward situation to talk about, to be honest.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

"You never like to win, especially these big matches against big rivals, with the retirement, but that's the way it is."

Djokovic only learned that Federer was withdrawing during the preceding doubles final, and the Serb paid tribute to Murray for stepping in as cover.

ATP executive chairman Chris Kermode said he called Murray at 14:00 GMT, and the Scot "instantly" agreed to travel to the O2 to play a set of singles, followed by doubles with John McEnroe, Tim Henman and Pat Cash.

Cash, Henman, Murray and McEnroe stepped in for a doubles match after Federer's withdrawal

The British number one, who suffered a crushing 6-0 6-1 defeat by Federer on Thursday, was back on the centre court in front of 17,000 spectators by 18:00 GMT.

"I want to thank him for coming out and making an effort," said Djokovic.

"It really is an effort. I know how it feels when you finish the season, as he did on Thursday.

"Probably the last thing he's thinking about is tennis now. He wants to rest after a long season. It's very genuine from him."

Djokovic ends the year as world number one  for the third time in four years and won his seventh Grand Slam title at Wimbledon.

But he lost to Rafael Nadal at the French Open once again.

"Right now I'm at the pinnacle in my career," he said.

Roger Federer 'not match-fit' for ATP Tour final

"I physically feel very fit. I'm very motivated to keep on playing at a very high level.

"So as long as it's like that, I'm going to try to use these years in front of me to fight for number one in the world and to fight for the biggest titles in the sport.

"Roland Garros is, was and still will be one of the biggest goals that I have."

Djokovic's immediate priority is returning to wife Jelena and their son Stefan, who was born last month.

"I'm very hands on," he said. "My wife told me what to expect. I've seen it before I came to Paris and London.

"I'm glad during the stay in London for these 10 days I got a lot of sleep, because that will not be the case from now."

Britain's Jordanne Whiley claimed one of her biggest career singles victories after beating world number one Yui Kamiji at the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Singles Masters in London.

The Birmingham-born 22-year-old won 6-2 6-3 on day one at the Olympic Park.

In September, Whiley became the first Briton to win the calendar year Grand Slam when her and doubles part

ner Kamiji triumphed at the US Open.

"That's probably the best singles match I've ever played," she told BBC Sport.

Whiley, who is currently ranked sixth in the world in singles, was aggressive from the start against the defending Masters champion.

She showed some skilful touches to record a first win over Kamiji since last year's Korean Open.

But the Briton knows that with two more round-robin matches to come before Saturday's semi-finals, she needs to continue to play at her best.

"I came out really focused and I really wanted it," she added. "My new coach Mike Price gave me some new tactics and fresh ideas so to come out onto the big stage and beat Yui is incredible.

"It is hard to play against her because we are friends and know each other so well and I did feel bad but this is business and I was on it.

"The win has given me a massive confidence boost but I'm not in the semi-finals yet so I will have to be focused again in my next game on Thursday and hopefully I can play like that again."

However, there was disappointment for the two other Britons in action with both Gordon Reid (men's) and Andy Lapthorne (quads) both losing in three sets.

World number three Reid was beaten by 5-7 7-5 7-5 by Belgium's world number five Joachim Gerard while US Open champion Lapthorne was defeated 6-2 4-6 4-6 at the hands of Australian Dylan Alcott.

"It's frustrating because I had my chances and I missed shots I shouldn't have," Reid told BBC Sport.

"I expected a tough match and I got one. I just have to try to take the positives into my next match."

Federer plays down Wawrinka row

Roger Federer has played down his spat with Stan Wawrinka, describing it as "heat-of-the-moment".

The Swiss pair are due to play together in the Davis Cup final on Friday.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

But they apparently argued as a result of a heated exchange between Wawrinka and Federer's team during Saturday's ATP World Tour Finals semi-final.

"There's no hard feeling whatsoever," said Federer, 33. "We are friends, not enemies, but it was maybe one of those heat-of-the-moment situations."

The last-four clash in London - which Federer won 4-6 7-5 7-6 (8-6) - was poised at 5-5 and 40-40 in the final set when Wawrinka asked Federer's box to keep quiet between serves.

Afterwards, it was claimed the pair were involved in a "furious row" behind the scenes.

"We had a conversation after the match and every one is totally relaxed about the situation," said 17-time Grand Slam winner Federer.

Australian Open champion Wawrinka, 29, added: "For me, there is not much to say because it's become a big deal because of the press.

"But for us it's nothing really. It took us five minutes to talk about that and to move on to the next goal which is the Davis Cup this weekend."

Federer went on to pull out of the final with a back injury, but is hopeful of being fit for the final of the Davis Cup, a trophy he has never won.

What next for beaten Murray?

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

By Piers Newbery BBC Sport at O2 Arena, London "That's not a tape you want to look at," was John McEnroe's caustic view of Andy Murray's 56-minute demolition by Roger Federer on Thursday.

"If I were his coach I would definitely take a break - he needs a break."

The former world number one was not alone in being stunned by the one-sided nature of Murray's final match of 2014.

Former British number one Tim Henman described it as "a real lesson", while seven-time Grand Slam champion Mats Wilander questioned whether Murray is ready to make the necessary changes to get back among the game's elite.

For his part, Murray spoke in the aftermath of looking at his game plan and becoming "totally clear about what I want to do" for 2015.

Briton Murray described his season as testing but "fine" bearing in mind he had back surgery last September and lost the services of coach Ivan Lendl in March.

He went on to play 79 matches, his busiest year, and racked up three titles in a gruelling six-week run at the end of the season that led to him qualifying for the World Tour Finals.

However, Thursday's defeat in London was his ninth at the hands of Federer, Novak Djokovic or Rafael Nadal in 2014.

"There's clearly a gap," McEnroe added.

"Part of it is what happened leading up to [London]; he's played too much, so he's on the verge of burnout - I'm assuming without having spoken to him.

"You're talking about someone who had to play a lot to get here, so he seems to have not much left in the tank. He looked tired, his legs looked heavier.

"I don't think you can judge by one match, but overall it's been a bit of an uphill battle for him. It seems like he's not quite where he was.

"Why that is, I'm not sure. That's a question I don't know if even he knows the answer to."

Roger Federer consoles Andy Murray after his defeat at the ATP World Finals

Statistically, Roger Federer has left Murray trailing in his wake in 2014

Murray's crushing loss to Federer served as a sharp reminder of how far the Scot has to travel to get back to the very top of the game.

Federer, 33, recovered from his own back issue last year to enjoy a superb 2014 and end the year within sight of the number one ranking.

"The best example is Roger," Wilander says.

"He's taken it to a completely different level. He's changed racquets, he's hired Stefan Edberg to help him out with volleys, and his game is different.

"That's the scary thing, to take that first step."

One area that Murray needs to work on is the serve, the "Achilles heel of his game", according to ATP analyst Craig O'Shannessy.

"In a game of very small margins, Murray's critical drop-off in first-serve percentage has a detrimental domino effect on the rest of his serving game.

"Murray simply can't afford a 2% drop in first-serve percentage, as it is already critically low (60% to Federer's 64%).

"Murray also trails Federer in first-serve points won (74% to 79%), and the distance between second-serve points won (51% to 58%) is alarming.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

"The other numbers are also a train wreck for the Brit in comparison, trailing Federer this year in break points saved (61% to 70%), service games won (85% to 91%) and service points won (65% to 71%)."

Murray won 59 of his 79 matches in 2014  but lost all nine against the top three, and was well beaten by Nadal at the French Open, Grigor Dimitrov at Wimbledon and Djokovic at the US Open.

Federer ended his Australian Open hopes in January, and delivered a crushing blow to finish the Briton's season at the O2 Arena.

"His game had no identity against Federer," said Henman. "What was the plan out there?

Tim Henman and Andy Murray

Henman hopes Murray can dictate more matches in 2015

"It's about him making his opponents do the running. He's a great athlete but he does too much running, and when he's running he's not dictating."

Henman, a six-time Grand Slam semi-finalist, believes there are some straightforward building blocks that Murray can put in place.

"He can serve aggressively, and there are only six first serves you can hit," said Henman. "A slow one out wide, in the body, up the middle, up the middle, in the body and out wide.

"On the second serve, I'd say his ball toss needs to go a little bit further left to get some more kick on it. He returns as well as anyone but how many times do you actually see him go for it on a second serve?

"From the back of the court he's got as good a two-handed backhand as Djokovic, but he doesn't use it enough.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

"I'd be looking for him to really crunch the ball cross-court and down the line, and his forehand can be aggressive.

"I think with what he's achieved now the consequences of missing are really not that great.

"He's a Wimbledon, US and Olympic champion. If he stands in and crunches a few balls and misses, big deal. But because he's so good, he won't do that."

Amelie Mauresmo watches over Murray in practice

Murray split with Lendl in March and began working with Amelie Mauresmo at Queen's Club in June, with a permanent arrangement confirmed after Wimbledon.

"I don't like getting people in trouble, but it's my job to be honest. I would not call it a roaring success," said McEnroe.

"That doesn't mean that it shouldn't be given more time."

"Andy Murray has a best man's speech to write for Ross Hutchins's wedding this weekend, and some serious thinking to do. "He seems totally committed to playing three days in the inaugural International Premier Tennis League in Manila at the end of the month, even though an extended training block in Miami would be a better environment in which to make changes to his game. "He may also reflect on whether he needs to freshen up his team, and whether Amelie Mauresmo is indeed the best person to steer the ship: it is harsh to judge anyone's influence just five months in, but Murray's performances remain underwhelming against the very best in the world."

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

From the beginning of Queen's, Murray had a 34-10 record, made the quarter-finals of the US Open, won titles in Shenzhen, Vienna and Valencia and qualified for the ATP Finals.

Wilander added: "Obviously, it was much easier for Lendl to go in and say, 'You haven't won and this is what you need to do - A, B, C ,D.' In comparison, it's a very tough job for Amelie, for anyone.

"What does he want? What sacrifice is he going to make to get back into the winning circle?

"Right now, it doesn't seem like he's made enough tactical and technical sacrifices to give himself the chance to win.

"Lendl took him down a path, this time Andy has to take Amelie down a path: 'This is what I want to do with my tennis.'

"And she needs to support him, be quite critical and help him with technical changes. It's a tough job."

After making his debut as a best man at friend Ross Hutchins's wedding next week, Murray will head to Miami for his annual gruelling training block, and is scheduled to play in the inaugural International Premier Tennis League later this month.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

He will then play an exhibition event in Abu Dhabi on New Year's Day, followed by the Hopman Cup in Perth, before the Australian Open begins on 19 January.

Andy Murray and Ross Hutchins Murray will be best man at former player Ross Hutchins's wedding

"Andy knows he needs to address a few issues," Henman said.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

"It's about clarity of thought. You've got to take a step back and look at the whole set-up, the whole team and his lifestyle and see whether that is working as well as it can. He's the only one who can answer that.

"He is such a good player but he's capable of winning the wrong way. It's a great asset but when you come up against the very best guys, you can't just turn it on. He's got to play the right way all the time.

"He sets the bar high. He's qualified for the World Tour Finals, which is an incredible achievement, so you have to keep perspective.

"But Andy's career right now is about contending at majors. Can he contend in Australia? Absolutely."

Federer upbeat despite Monfils loss

Switzerland's Roger Federer was encouraged by his fitness levels in Friday's one-sided Davis Cup final defeat by Frenchman Gael Monfils.

Federer was beaten 6-1 6-4 6-3 as the opening day finished all-square in front of a Davis Cup record 27,432 fans at the indoor clay court in Lille.

The 33-year-old, who pulled out of Sunday's ATP World Tour final, will now partner Stan Wawrinka in the doubles.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

"I started to feel better as the match went on," said Federer.

"That's very encouraging, I must say. I would think that I'm going to get better as the weekend goes on."

Wawrinka beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-1 3-6 6-3 6-2 in the opening singles rubber to give Switzerland a 1-0 lead, but Monfils's win over Federer drew the tie level at 1-1.

Marco Chiudinelli and Michael Lammer had initially been named as Switzerland's doubles team, but Federer and Wawrinka will now face Richard Gasquet and Julien Benneteau.

"With the support of a world-record crowd to feed off, and sensing an opportunity against an opponent physically below his best, Gael Monfils was magnificent from the start.

"Stan Wawrinka was equally impressive for Switzerland in the opening match of the day, despite the anxiety he felt at the extra responsibility on his shoulders."

The best-of-five contest concludes with the reverse singles on Sunday.

France have not won the Davis Cup since 2001, while Switzerland have never won it.

The Swiss made the perfect start with Wawrinka winning 25 points at the net and sealing victory with a volley on his first match point.

The French hit back though, with Monfils winning the first point of his match against Federer with an ace, one of nine he sent down in a first set that raced by in just 31 minutes.

"That definitely is one of the top three matches in my life," Monfils said on the Davis Cup website.

"I was very nervous in the beginning. When Jo lost, it's an extra pressure because we need to get back on the road to win the title."

Travels and slowrolls

Hey everyone, hope you've having a festive time over the holidays. Since I was in Los Angeles, I've been to Barcelona, Ireland, UK, Prague, and then back to the UK again. It was my first time to Barcelona and wow, what a city.

The hotel Arts (where the tourney is held) is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in, and the architecture of the city is unbelievable. On a day off a group of us went and visited the Sagrada Familia, the famous cathedral designed by Gaudi.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

It really is the most breathtaking thing I've ever seen - if you visit it, go when the sun is low in the sky as the stained glass lights it up on the inside, not that my photo really does it justice:

cathedral.jpg

Poker wise, Barcelona was mildly torturous. I made it to day 2 with 30k, which although short was a playable 25bbs. Things were looking up as I chipped up to 40k fairly quickly, and then I picked up AK into aces. Standard, yes, except for I was dished out the worst slowroll imaginable. After we got the chips in (my opponent was the EPT Vilamoura season 6 winner, Antonio Matias), I immediately flipped up my AK and he looked at it and sighed. Sweet, I thought, he has AQ. However, he refused to turn over his hand, saying "I wait for the cameras." The table responded, "no, you can reveal your hand immediately." But no, he waited, a full tick-tocking three minutes for the camera crew to come over and assemble themselves until the dealer finally forced him to reveal. Which he did one card at a time. Whilst smiling. Ace...... Ace. You like? No, sir, I do not like.

Why do people think it's ok to slowroll with the nuts in a heads up pot where your opponent is all in? I can perhaps understand that there can be some edge gained from slow-rolling when calling a river bet with the nuts, where your opponent is still going to be left at the table and getting them so tilted that they can potentially steam off the rest of their chips to you in a later hand, but to do it when they are all-in pre and extremely unlikely to survive? Hmm.

ways of the UK, an impressive 266 runners still battled their way to the event making it a big success. As the event was televised I got to flex the old TV hosting muscles alongside my friend and co-host Nick Wealthall which has got me hungry to do more presenting again! We also did a fun photoshoot on a diving board over Galway bay in -2 degree weather, surrounded by crazy Irish swimmers who apparently like to take weekly dips in the freezing water. Seafood? See food.

My plans to fly home to London and finally go about furnishing my flat were temporarily derailed when I was invited to the NBC Heads-Up Championship. I was delighted to get the opportunity to play, but since it was taking place only a few days after the PCA, it didn't make sense anymore to go home in the interim.

I decided to stay in the Americas and headed to Mexico to kill a couple of days before getting on the plane to Vegas. I drew Gaelle Baumann as my first-round opponent and was pretty happy about it. I thought she was probably one of the less experienced heads-up players in the field, and since I'm not very experienced myself it was a good pairing.

The day before the tournament, I participated in a training session with Joe Serock and a couple other players. We ran through some simulations and played a few practice matches just to get into a heads-up thinking mode. Something must have clicked for me, because when I sat down with Gaelle the next day, I played one of the best heads-up matches I've ever had. You know when you're just in the zone and feel like you have control, good reads and momentum on your side? Well that's how the early stages of the match felt - very pleasant indeed.

Gaelle was down to about eight big blinds when she moved in and I called with king-eight. She turned over ace-four and doubled up. Then she doubled again. All too quickly, we were back to even. The blinds went up and we were basically in flip mode. I lost one flip and then made a mistake that cost me the match. Gaelle had started limping her buttons, and I had 14 big blinds. She limped again and I shoved with 6-8 offsuit. Gaelle called with A7, won the hand, and that was it for me. Though it was unfortunate to go out in the first round it was a good confidence booster and I can't wait to see how our match unfolds on TV.

I was able to spend a little time at home before hitting the road again. Only this time, I wasn't going too far. James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton drove past my house on their way to EPT Deauville and I grabbed a ride with them to France. It was a very entertaining journey of course, Joe being the comedic genius that he is. I was due to play Day 1B of the main event and the night before, I decided to go to Trouville for dinner. They have amazing mussels there, and as such I ordered a big bowl. After a pleasant dinner I got back to the hotel for an early night to gear up for the main event.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

At about four in the morning, I woke up and didn't feel well at all. I'll spare you the details, but I was violently ill from then until around 2 pm the following afternoon. The tournament had started and I was one vomit away from unregistering. However at the very last minute the nausea subsided so I foolishly/bravely headed to the casino and took my seat. Sadly a combination of playing too tight, running sub-par and feeling like Death itself culminated in my demise in the very last level of the day. Ten points for effort though.

Next time, skip the mussels.

The Arctic 30

On 18 September, a group of twenty-eight activists and two journalists traveled by inflatable boat from the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise to Gazprom's Prirazlomnaya oil drilling platform. In a peaceful statement of protest, they intended to hang a banner from the platform calling for an end to drilling in the Arctic. Prodded by the oil company, Russian authorities boarded the Arctic Sunrise the next day and arrested everyone at gunpoint. All thirty were taken into custody and were sent to a detention camp for two months pending an investigation.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

Initially, the "Arctic 30" were held on charges of piracy, which carries a 15-year sentence. Although they managed to get those charges dropped, they were still held for weeks on hooliganism charges, which come with a 7-year sentence. It reminded me of what happened with the girls from Pussy Riot who are still in prison for protesting against Russian president Vladimir Putin. The Arctic 30 were eventually released after three months in captivity.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

It's pretty horrific, this heavy-handed approach where the authorities say, "Oh, screw you! You did something we didn't like? We'll throw you in jail!" However, this protest was totally peaceful. It took place in international waters. And these people were locked up in terrible conditions for trying to increase awareness about how oil companies are destroying the environment in order to continue turning massive profits.

Greenpeace called on people all over the world to protest the detention of the Arctic 30. While some oil companies are getting behind those of us who believe this is completely unacceptable, Shell is a major exception. Shell signed a major deal with Gazprom and in order to preserve that relationship, they kept quiet on this issue. Many of the Greenpeace protests took place outside of Shell petrol stations and since there's one right down the road from me, I made my own little banner and joined in. The amount of support we received just from passers-by was amazing. The group grew and grew as more people approached us and asked about the Arctic 30.

I'm really passionate about environmental issues and I've taken big steps to be as earth-friendly as I can. It's true, to keep up my career I have to travel by airplane now and then but I actually haven't driven my car since May. I've been cycling all over London as much as I can and using public transport the rest of the time. I love cycling--it makes me feel like a kid again and it's great for your health as well. London is trying pretty hard to be friendlier to cyclists and I'd love to see the same for other major cities.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

Obviously, we can't stop using oil overnight because society would break down. However, we can take progressive steps to reduce our dependence on it. We need to support companies that are developing alternative fuels and make sure those technologies come to light instead of being suppressed by governments and oil companies who only want to protect their profits. I'm always looking for more ways to decrease my own consumption because being aware isn't enough. I hope people hold me to that as well. I'll surely hold myself to it.

Liv Boeree's fun times in Los Angeles

ept london_day 1b_liv boeree.jpg

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

I'm currently sitting in the airport looking forward to the eleven-hour flight from LAX to London Heathrow that leaves shortly. I say looking forward because it's true, I actually enjoy the transAtlantic flights as you get to catch up on all the movies, sleep, get fed, sleep some more and have no contact with the outside world which can be quite blissful nowadays.

I've just spent ten days in Los Angeles for the NAPT - this was the first one I'd been to and was pretty excited as I'd heard great things about these tournaments. I won my seat to it on the PokerStars Steps route and as such played day 1A with most of the qualifiers, again something I was excited about when I saw my table only had one person I recognised.

After winning a few pots here and there, I reached the dizzying heights of 32,000 from a 30,000 starting stack. And that was the peak of my lofty stack - from then on it got chipped away at, particularly by a couple of very frustrating hands - for example when I opened red A-Q middle position, a lady who plays a very strange game of poker calls out the small blind and the board comes A?K?5?. She now leads out (she has a weak ace, yay) and I call. Turn is 8? and she now looks at her cards and check-calls my near pot bet. River is a fourth club and she announces all-in proudly for double the pot. So that hand took a chunk of chips and a few more whiffs with A-K/A-Q dwindled me down to 13,500.

So then there's an open to 750, a raise in mid-position to 2000 and a flat by a big stack on the button. I'm in the small blind with Jacks and shove. First guy folds A-x, second guy calls with A-K and the third guy folds and shows A-K. Good shape, no? No. Bye bye NAPT main event.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

However, there was more poker in store for me, in the form of the $3000 side event and most excitingly, a shootout in Compton. Yup, that's right, a 81 person bounty shootout invitational televised for ESPN $5000 that was held in the Crystal casino in the heart of South Central. I found myself at the feature table with Phil Hellmuth, Kevin Macphee, Shaun Deeb, Nick Binger, Jean-Robert Bellande, Chris Moneymaker and Jonathan Little.

I doubled fairly early on by check-calling Little's bluffs on all three streets with top set (which filled up on river), but then had a small blind vs. big blind confrontation against Macphee with my sevens versus his A-10 all-in pre-flop, which he duly won by making quads (the photo below captures our facial expressions as the board ran out perfectly...).

liv_boeree_and_kevin_macphee.JPG

So after that there was no more poker for me - just three free days to enjoy the fun LA had to offer, including messing around on the beach (more photos below) and rocking out with one of my favourite bands who happened to be playing LA that week, too.

Racing for life

I returned from EPT Berlin to find a really sweet and uplifting message in my Facebook inbox. It was from a fellow named Michael who wrote to say he'd been grinding the small stakes MTTs online for a few years and had developed a huge love for poker, but had often struggled to convert in the late stages and was yet to find his first big score. However, he told me he'd been watching the EPT Live coverage from Berlin and had listened carefully to some of the commentaries, especially during the final table. Michael claimed that this information lead him to change some of his tactics. Those changes clearly went well as he ended up finishing a staggering 4th out of some 25,000 runners in the Red Spade Open, turning his $55 investment into a whopping $110,000!

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

Good for him, you may say! Well, what really struck me was his next sentence. Michael, who plays poker occasionally but works full time as a plumber in Liverpool, is going to donate $85,000 (that's 77%!) of his arguably once in a lifetime prize straight to St. Josephs Hospice in Formby. He was compelled to make such an incredible gift because it's where his uncle has been for thirty years and sadly it is now under threat because the government is trying to shut it down.

Levels of generosity like this are unbelievably rare, and to hear

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

of it first hand from someone who could do so many things with a score of this magnitude was so amazing I wanted to share it with all of you. It made me feel humbled, dare I say ashamed, of how easy it can be to forget that generosity and charity is always an option.

As such, I've been inspired to get off my ass and do something good as well. Admittedly, it's nowhere near the scale of Michael's donation, but hopefully it's a step in the right direction. On June 1st, I'll be running the 10K "Race For Life" in London for Cancer Research U.K. My goal is to raise a minimum of £10,000 for arguably one of the most necessary and deserving charities today.

All speckled with stars

After WSOPE and San Remo I returned home to my parents' farm and have been spending time with them and the animals. It's so wonderful to be back in nature, away from the grind and free to be muddy!

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

There's very little light pollution in the countryside, so the number of stars you can see is incredible. It's where my love of astrophysics started, though these days I feel a little out of touch with it. It's amazing how able your mind is to solve things when it's properly trained, and I really miss that instant ability to crunch through physics problems. I tackle problems all the time in poker, but the complexity of physics is so beautiful that if I really started going back into it, I feel like I would fall down the rabbit hole and never come back.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

The sad thing is that I looked through some of my old physics notes the other day and thought, "Wow, I used to be able to solve that problem effortlessly, and now I don't even know where to begin." It used to be like a language I had become fluent in. Now it's somewhere very, very deep in the recesses of my brain, I don't know how to access it, and it's scary that I might never be able to access it again.

I've still got the stars though, and just a few days ago I got to watch the Felix Baumgartner space-jump streamed live over the web. So cool. I didn't even realize it was happening 'til the Twitterverse started blowing up about it. I'm mildly obsessed with altitude and it's effect on the body, so of course I was instantly hooked. I'd randomly researched the elevation of the highest parachute jump about a year ago. It was something I'd been interested in completely organically, and now here it was, streaming on my screen.

Going up, the anticipation was tangible and the views breathtaking but also slow going as the ascent took over two hours to reach 128,000 feet. But when the capsule door finally opened, the gravity of what he was actually doing sunk in (pardon the pun) when you realise that he's going to throw himself out of the tiny capsule into the abyss below. What an absolute loon. The dangers are numerous and dramatic - if there was any kind of leak in his space-suit the lack of atmospheric pressure at that altitude causes all bodily fluids to instantly boil. The commentators remarked that Felix also had to make sure he didn't tumble too much whilst in freefall because the G-forces would make him pass out, leading to an inevitable death streamed live to a million viewers.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

Things like the space jump, or even more the groundbreaking particle physics work being done with the Large Hadron Collider at CERN (which I got to tour recently!), often raise questions about their justification. People can't always tangibly see and feel the results, and thus remark "This is surely a waste of time and money. What's the point? This is just satisfying some theorists or adrenaline junkies."

But it's not. This is the way progress happens. A few dedicated people spend their time examining and asking questions about things everyone else takes for granted. Why is this here? How is it here? What brought it about in the first place? If Hertz hadn't undertaken experiments to prove Maxwell's prediction of the existence of radio waves, would the world be anywhere near as technologically advanced as it is now?

The answers are usually beautiful, and I can't wait to see where the discoveries at CERN are going to lead us.

Stepping onstage

After a long stretch of procrastination, I'm pleased to report that I finally took my first acting class. For the last few years it's been something I really wanted to try, but I kept putting it off. It's almost like I was strangely embarrassed to admit acting was something I wanted to try - maybe it's my "Britishness" coming into play. In any case, I got over it and signed up for a twelve-week course. Fortunately, my teacher is being flexible when it comes to my rather hectic schedule and allows me to pick and choose the classes I can attend... and speaking of schedule, I've just done Paris for WSOPE, Barcelona for some filming, and now I'm in Isle of Man UKIPT before finally heading to the Masters Classics of Poker in Amsterdam. It's going to be a crazy month.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

So the first lesson was an improv class. We learned the basics of improvisation and did an exercise where one person would come on stage as a certain emotion and the next person had to react to that. One of the early lessons I learned is that you cannot say no to whatever is being offered to you. It's called "blocking," and it tends to end the scene quite awkwardly rather than moving it along. I absolutely loved it. It was the most fun three hours I can remember and was so wildly different from what I'm used to so I'm really glad I finally took the plunge. Who knows if I'll be any good or not but I'm so excited to try.

t the premiere of World War Z

I wasn't inclined toward anything thespian when I was younger. In school I actively refused to participate in the plays because I was more interested in science and sports. To be fair, in my last year I did sign up for the school musical (which was combined with the local boys' school in my sixth form) because I wanted to meet some boys! However, I ended up really enjoying everything about it. I think it was always in me to be onstage; it just took until age 29 for me to draw up the courage to do it. Becoming a bit more aware about the film business also inspired me. I've met a lot of actors at the poker table and have always been one to marvel at how cool their job is. Of course, they all turn round and say the same thing to me, but their world is definitely something I want to pursue more of.

For now, I'm going to keep taking classes to see if I continue to enjoy acting as much as I am right now. And if that's the case, maybe I'll have to start knocking on some casting agents' doors!

Mountain girl

I had an absolutely amazing World Series this year. Even though the poker was rubbish, it was the best summer I can remember, full of adventures and lots of parties. I got into really good shape doing lots of yoga and going rock climbing in Red Rock Canyon. After the Main Event, I took a road trip through the Sierra Nevada mountains. A whole group of us were meant to be going, but some people flaked out at the last minute, so it ended up being just my friend and me.

We bought sleeping bags and a couple of roll mats, not even bothering with a tent. Our journey started on my birthday and we drove through Death Valley, stopping to take a hike. It was 120 degrees minimum out there and we took a dirt trail that winds up and up and up into the mountains. We thought it was pretty narrow to walk, but when we got near the top, we came upon a van. It was a group of older people, there must have been eight of them, and somehow they got all the way up there in a van!

"Do you know where there's a gas station?" one of them drawled.

Um, maybe forty miles away? And certainly not at the end of this windy little road that goes up and up and up!

"Oh, we thought we could get over the mountain this way!"

They didn't have a map and of course there wasn't any cell phone reception, so we gave them some of our water before hiking back down to our car to call for a ranger. We drove back down into the valley and finally found a pay phone, but we couldn't get a hold of any rangers. There was only one other option, so we called 911 and gave them their location. It seemed a little weird to do it, but they could have been in real danger stuck up there in such harsh

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

conditions.

The next day we continued on and arrived the base of a huge mountain. We drove as high up as we possibly could, stopping for the night on a little patch of land at about 9,000 feet. We didn't even find a proper campsite or anything, just pulled out our mats and slept out under an incredible star-streaked sky. The next morning we woke up super-early and hiked the rest of the way up the mountain, which went up to 11,000 feet. I wound up getting unbelievably sunburned in the most random patches like the backs of my knees and the back of my right ankle. When we were way up the top, the only other human out there was an older man out hiking by himself. We told him we were headed to Yosemite and asked what sort of hikes he could recommend. He told us to stop along the way at a place called Devil's Postpile and take the hike to Rainbow Falls. We followed his advice and it turned out to be an amazing tip. Rainbow Falls is an absolutely enormous waterfall and we basically jumped right in. It was the most intense experience ever, the power of this water falling from a hundred feet. You couldn't even get too close to it. And the humidity in the air made it feel like I was trying to breathe underwater. It was just incredible.

That night, we slept under the stars again, out in the wild, before heading up to Yosemite.

Going to the mountains to explore is my favorite thing in the world to do now. I love hiking, climbing, and being surrounded by nature whenever I can. But all great trips must come to an end and now I'm back at home in London, chilling out and working on my apartment for a bit before I'm back out on the road for the EPT.

Mud wrestling with Liv Boeree: Heads Up with Stapes, part one

Okay, admit it, the headline grabbed you and if you're still reading this rather than scrolling down to click through to the video then you should give youself a pat on the back. You're obviously the kind of player who has the discipline to fold ace-king pre-flop.

So, you must know Liv Boeree. She's a Team PokerStars Pro, EPT winner and a competitor of the most ferocious manner with $2,281,099 in live tournament winnings. If you know Boeree then chances are that you'll know Joe Stapleton, too. Stapes, as he's better known, is not a Team PokerStars Pro nor an EPT winner or, it seems, much of a competitor away from a bar stool. He can talk the hind legs off a donkey though, which comes in pretty handy when you're presenting seven full days of live webcasts.

SCOOP 2012: Google the rules!

SCOOP logo 2010.gifSCOOP starts this Sunday (like you didn't know already) and I'm getting ready to get my grind on. I'm planning on playing as many events as possible, and I'm excited about the variety of games offered in this year's schedule. The world outside the familiarity of the NLH tourney can be scary place for many people, myself included, but I can't think of a better opportunity for players like that to get their feet wet in some different games than the SCOOP.

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

What I would recommend to anyone trying to learn a new game is simple: Google the rules! Once you've familiarised yourself with them, I would recommend playing either play money or micro-stakes until you've become confident with how the game is structured. After just a few hours you'll probably be ready to try out one of the small buy-in SCOOP events - remember, the majority of the players in these events will be inexperienced at the game just like you, so don't be intimidated. You'll find the challenge of a new game invigorating and fun. Also, if you would like some invaluable tips from the Pros, PokerStars offer training videos in all the games at Poker School Online.

liv_boeree_SCOOP_2012.jpg Liv Boeree getting ready to play SCOOP (even if she doesn't know all the rules)

Personally, I'm most excited about playing the Badugi (Event 4) as I've never even played a hand of it before, and from what I hear it's one of the most fun games to play. It's very important as a poker player to keep challenging yourself, not only against better players but at different varieties of poker. It keeps your mind active and versatile, but most importantly, it refreshes your interest and passion for the game.

A roof of one's own

I'm excited to report that I finally bought an apartment! Ever since I won EPT San Remo I wanted to invest wisely, and I thought that a flat in London would not only be a solid investment, but will also put a permanent roof over my head. I've essentially been living out of a suitcase for two years and have been staying at my parents' house whenever I'm back in the U.K - not too cool for a 28 year old!

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

My journey to becoming a homeowner was long and arduous, starting all the way back in early 2011. I found a place I was interested in, but that fell through. Then, in January of last year I found the perfect apartment. I was supposed to close on it in March and had even told Vanessa Selbst and her girlfriend (now fiancé) Miranda, that they could stay there with me for a couple of months leading up to the World Series of Poker. But March rolled into April and the sellers still hadn't given me an exchange date. Then April turned into May and I was flying to Vegas to spend the next two months at the WSOP. I kept asking what was going on and eventually was told we could close when I returned in July. Well, I came back in July and it still wasn't done. They went all the way to October promising me "in a few weeks, in a few weeks" only to finally turn around and tell me they didn't want to sell the place after all. Grrr.

_MG_7247_Liv_Boeree_EPT8PCA_Neil_Stoddart.jpg

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

So the search began again the next day. I walked around the same neighbourhood and happened to find an apartment for sale just around the corner. It was more expensive, but I absolutely fell in love with its huge wrap-around roof terrace. Conveniently, a few days later they reduced the price to nearly what the other place was going to cost, so after a bit of haggling I got it for a good deal. It's a really cool feeling knowing I'm a homeowner. This piece of three-dimensional space that's made out of bricks and such is actually mine.
I finally closed on the 21st of December, the supposed "doomsday". It went smoothly, except for the ominous sign of pooling water on the floor beneath the 5 year old boiler. I knew owning a home would come with a lot of responsibilities, but I didn't expect them to be so drastic and so soon. Hello plumbers...

www.inulpoker.com | agen poker terpercaya | poker terpercaya | poker dan domino online indonesia terpercaya | poker dan domino terbaik |

The absurd thing is, in the first month I owned it, I didn't spend a night in the new abode. After I got the keys, I went straight down to my parents' house for Christmas, then jumped on a plane to Los Angeles for New Year's. Kevin and I went for a spot of skiing in Mammoth, flew to the Bahamas for the PCA, then went to Vegas to play in the NBC Heads-Up Championship.

For a long time, the only piece of furniture I owned was a foosball table. Really, that's it. It's a full size one so there's not much room for a real dining table so guests shouldn't expect any fine dining. Ultimately, I want the place to be a girl's version of a lad's gaming apartment. It has a huge roof terrace that I'm going to fill with telescopes, basketball hoops, ping-pong tables and other fun stuff to satisfy any revelry that will inevitably take place.

What a summer this has been. It started whilst most of my friends were already in Vegas for the start of the WSOP. I was busy attempting to train for the 10km charity run "Race for Life" in aid for Cancer Research UK.

The race rolled around quickly - I had managed to squeeze in two 5km and one 7km run the week before, and I was quietly confident that I should be able to get around the course in around an hour and ten minutes. The race itself was a huge amount of fun - some 1,400 ladies of all ages and backgrounds, mostly wearing pink and full of exuberance.

Something about the word "race" must have appealed to my competitive nature. I didn't just finish the course... I crushed my expected time, finishing in 52 minutes! I couldn't believe it and it's really inspired me to try out more runs like this in the future.

Anyway, the next day was equally exciting, but for very different reasons. I'd been invited to the London premiere of World War Z, the new Brad Pitt movie directed by Marc Forster. So I spent the day getting glammed up for arguably one of the biggest red carpet opportunities of my life... and damn it was huge!

The wall of photographers was both terrifying and exhilarating, and fortunately there were some great photos from it. It was awesome to see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the flesh, too. They really are such a beautiful couple.

The movie was intense, to say the least. Told from the perspective of a former UN worker (Pitt), it's a powerful blockbuster documenting the end of the spread of a terrible disease that laid waste to the majority of the human race and left behind hordes of ferocious zombies. It left me on the edge of my seat throughout, and I highly recommend you go and see it.

The night ended even more spectacularly when the band Muse, who wrote the soundtrack to the movie, played a spectacular open-air concert in central London for all the premiere guests and thousands of free ticket winners. What a weekend!

I bet my life

I'm very excited to announce that this Sunday 4th November I have a TV show airing on the Travel Channel across the USA at 11pm. It's called "I Bet My Life", a show about my boyfriend and fellow tournament player Kevin MacPhee and I travelling to and playing in the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo. The premise is a unique mixture between a travel documentary and a reality show, interspersing essential travel tips for the country into our daily lives on the road, with some rather extravagant and hugely fun activities thrown into the mix. We even got to ride in a helicopter and drive a Porsche around the Grand Prix circuit, boom!

Filming was challenging to say the least - not only were we playing the tournament but before and after each day we had to film numerous scenes, do interviews and multiple re-takes which left us very little room to do anything else. That said, it gave us a taster for reality TV and even tested our, ahem, acting skills... Pretty crazy to see how much footage is required to be condensed into a 30 minute episode.

As I'm sure you'll agree, mainstream TV shows about poker and its lifestyle is exactly what our beautiful game needs to spark interest and promote it to the masses. I really hope that I Bet My Life will help to do that, so if you're in the USA this Sunday night, please tune in!

Push the second nuts, check stone nuts?

This blog post is going to be a little different from the normal. In this one, you are going to be tested! Are you ready for it? Do you like quizzes? I love them! You can try me, but I'm very good in riddles, quizzes, and trivia.

I always loved math. Almost no one knows, but when I was 14, I made to the national mathematic finals after two or three regional rounds where I got everything right. I didn't prepare myself very well for the final and didn't get a medal. This background helped a lot in my poker career. Lots of poker concepts that aren't easy to understand were instantly understandable because I knew the math behind them. I always loved the practicality of it. Math makes sense for me when I can see it in real life. In poker you can see lots of math.

If you put together all of this together, you can conclude that I love a good math/poker challenge. But today the challenge is up to you. I created a poker riddle! When you get the correct answer you will learn a little more about poker. Are you ready?

Some days ago, I was playing at PokerStars. I was on the button, and it was checked to me on the river. I had the second nut flush, and I went all-in. I'm sure that this is the best way to play that particular hand.

In that same play, if I had the stone nuts flush (it was impossible to have better), I'm sure that the best play was to check.

Why? What is the solution? What was I playing ?

Celina Lin's perfect home

www.samsungbola.com | Agen Bola dan kasino online | agen bola terpercaya | bandar bola |

About a year ago I started looking for an apartment to buy. I looked at three possible markets: Melbourne, Macau and Hong Kong. Since I spend most of my time in Macau, that was the natural choice. It also helped that the mortgage rates are super low in Asia right now. I was able to get a mortage at 2.3%, which compared to the rates in Australia is ridiculous!

I wanted this home to be truly my home, which meant designing it to my own tastes. I didn't want to buy a new apartment where it felt like such a waste to tear things down and re-do things, especially if it's a place that nobody had ever lived in. Instead I found this perfect place that was quite run down. It was a project where I could rip everything out and put in new floors, new walls, new partitions and so forth. It needed a freshening up, but it was perfect for me.

celina_lin_champion_pic_blog.jpg You've got to do something with those winning dollars

I bought the apartment and was finally ready to start the renovation job in March. Obviously I had to have a walk-in closet for my clothes and my 200 pairs of shoes. Every girl wants that Sex and the City walk-in closet from the movie but it's really difficult in Asia. The size of that walk-in closet could be the size of a master bedroom for most people here.

After that came the more mundane details: floor tile. Wall tile. Toilet paper holders. Shower heads. Sinks. The list is endless.

www.samsungbola.com | Agen Bola dan kasino online | agen bola terpercaya | bandar bola |

It's a much bigger project than I imagined but it's something that I find extremely enjoyable at the same time. I am choosing every little detail of the home that I'm about to move into. I have to think about what it is that I need and then design things according to my lifestyle and my daily life. For someone who has traditionally been a somewhat messy person, that's not easy.

Making all these choices in Macau adds to the difficulty. You've got to take into account the cost of importing items to a place where maybe not a lot of people have installed them before or know how to repair them. Often it's easier and wiser to buy things that are local or from China, where you can get something "close enough". It might be 80% of what you really want but at 20% of the cost, and everyone knows how to install it and fix it.

I have contractors, of course. I go to the apartment at least once a week to double-check everything that they're doing. I find it's best to be very clear with every little process. "This is my vision. This is what I want." It's really hard to start ripping things out and doing it all over again if you're not clear.

Interior designing has always been a field that I've been really interested in. This renovation project has opened my eyes a bit to my natural talent in that field. Next time I buy a house (maybe in Australia), I'll probably look for another sort of do-it-yourself project.

If they would just lower the interest rates...
