There are only a few days left before we leave 2014 behind and start 2015 with optimism, resolutions and old and new traditions.

We asked Las Vegas celebrities up and down and off the Strip to share their New Year’s traditions:

Britney Spears, “Britney: Piece of Me,” Axis at Planet Hollywood

“Last year my entire family came to Las Vegas to spend NYE with me. It was such a blast celebrating with them and my “Piece of Me” band, dancers and crew. It’s like having a giant family gathering for the holidays! So we’re going to do the same this year.”

Donny Osmond, “Donny & Marie,” Flamingo Las Vegas

“I never miss London’s New Year’s celebrations on television because they celebrate it eight hours before we do in Las Vegas ... and I’m still awake.”

Marie Osmond, “Donny & Marie,” Flamingo Las Vegas

“I always got all dressed up for New Year’s because I had to hang with a bunch of guys … my brothers. We always worked New Year’s Eve and then rode our bus home. To party, we banged pots and pans. We were out of control.”

Walter, Jeff Dunham’s “Not Playing With a Full Deck,” Planet Hollywood

“My favorite New Year’s tradition? Every year just before midnight, I take a lawn chair and popcorn and sit by a police checkpoint. As for what I will not miss this coming year is commercials with Mila Kunis pretending that she works in a bourbon distillery.”

Terry Fator and Taylor Makakoa, the Mirage headliners

“We don't have a New Year’s Eve tradition … unless you call watching the New Year come in on the television surrounded by our dogs a tradition!”

Jennifer Romas, “Sexxy,” Westgate Las Vegas

“It wasn’t a tradition, but it seemed as if every New Year’s Eve I was dancing in a show sliding down a pole upside down keeping time to the countdown clock. We’d celebrate after everybody else had! This year being only four days away from opening my new show ‘Sexxy,’ I have champagne ready to pop at midnight and then get a good night’s sleep in advance of another 12-hour rehearsal day schedule.”

Penny Pibbets, “The Penny Pibbets Show,” Art Square Theater, and most recently “Absinthe,” Caesars Palace

“I’m usually off New Year’s Day since my boss, The Gazillionaire, usually has a hangover and doesn’t want me around since he can’t stand the “annoying pitch of my voice.” So, I like to get up really early every New Year’s Day and check out all the awesome architecture and huge, extravagant vintage houses in the older downtown areas. I walk around for hours until some of the neighbors tell me I have to leave.

“Then I go to the Pinball Hall of Fame. I love it there because the best part of starting a New Year is erasing all your high scores and starting fresh. My favorite is the Metallica machine ‘Master of Puppets.’ I will challenge anyone to a pinball battle.”

Jason Kappus, Bob Gaudio in “Jersey Boys,” Paris Las Vegas

“I’m looking forward to this holiday season for the new movies ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Into the Woods.’ Also this New Year, we celebrate my son’s first birthday!”

Benjamin D. Hale, Johnny Cash in “Million Dollar Quartet,” Harrah’s

“A New Year’s Day tradition that I really enjoy doing since moving to Las Vegas is a nice, brisk hike at Red Rock Canyon or Zion National Park. It’s a great way to start your year in a healthy and elevated way.”

“Fantasy” show dancers at the Luxor

“I love celebrating the East Coast countdown at T&T at Luxor every New Year’s Eve. Then three hours later, I celebrate the Las Vegas New Year. When ringing in the New Year, I love to celebrate it twice in one night — with a glass of champagne at both midnight toasts, of course!” —Tracey, “Fantasy” dance captain

“I love the fireworks on the Strip. I always get a room at MGM Grand Sky Lofts because it definitely means you are in for a good time and a great view!” —Mariah, “Fantasy”

Hair guru Michael Boychuck, Color, Caesars Palace

“Every New Year’s Eve is very special. It is my wedding anniversary, too. This year, Karen and I will celebrate 14 years of marriage. I also celebrate every New Year’s Eve with my best friend Robin Leach. The tradition started on Y2K in Antigua. New Year’s Eve is my favorite night — lots of champagne and fireworks to celebrate my wedding and the New Year.”

Frank Marino, “Divas Las Vegas,” Linq Hotel

“This is my 30th time celebrating New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas, and as always I believe this is the day to say goodbye to the old and welcome in the new. Keeping with that tradition, I’m going to be celebrating this year by riding the High Roller right next to the brand new Linq Hotel, where I will be continuing my reign as the longest-running headliner and Queen of the Las Vegas Strip for at least the next three years.”

Kevin Burke, “Defending the Caveman,” Harrah’s Las Vegas

“There’s an old legend that says whatever you’re doing at midnight on New Year’s Eve is what you’ll do the most during the upcoming year. Sooo ...”

Mac King, Harrah’s Las Vegas headliner

“I will celebrate the same way I always do, by sabering a bottle of sparkling cider and using that same saber to open a pack of Fig Newtons.”

Jeff Civillico, The Linq Hotel headliner

“This New Year I’ll celebrate completion of the construction at the Imperial-Quad-Linq! The hotel has been under construction since my opening day May 26, 2012, and it will be really awesome in 2015 to have my show at the newest, coolest property on the Strip.”

Eric Jordan Young, most recently “Shakin,’ ” Sin City Theater, Planet Hollywood

“My New Year’s Eve tradition is watching the Strip fireworks on the balcony of my Summerlin home with my (Rhodesian Ridgeback) dogs Keely and Pasha. My New Year’s Eve resolution every year is to look, listen, learn and respond. I always strive to maintain openness and never pretend that I know everything.”
