Andy Walmsley’s “ENTSpeaks: Entertainers You Think You Know” on Feb. 2, 2015, at Inspire Theater in downtown Las Vegas. On Feb. 2, the second in the series of one-night-only, intimate evenings starts the 2015 run of “ENTSpeaks: Entertainers You Think You Know.” Six new speakers who play a part in making Las Vegas the Entertainment Capital of the World will walk onto an empty stage and with nothing but a microphone reveal a lifetime of awe-inspiring stories.
Producer Andy Walmsley created the fall debut “ENTSpeaks” with former Supremes singer Mary Wilson, standup comedy magician The Amazing Johnathan, veteran comedian Marty Allen, show producer Jeff Kutash, model and showgirl dancer Shellee Renee and Olympic synchronized swimmer Christina Jones.
You can view all the videos of that first show at EntSpeaks.com. The Amazing Johnathan stunned the audience revealing serious heart problems that will severely shorten his lifespan.
The extraordinary success of “ENTSpeaks” led Andy — and you’re reading it here first — to sign up the Smith Center President Myron Martin, magician Mac King, “Fantasy” creator and three-time Elvis Presley movie dancer Anita Mann, “Steve Wynn’s Showstoppers” singer Nicole Kaplan, Frank Sinatra impressionist Bob Anderson and yours truly for the Feb. 2 installment again at Inspire Theater downtown.
We each get 15 minutes to speak frankly to an industry audience about our lives and reveal stories and experiences unknown until then, and it all ends with a unique Q+A with a twist.
Bob opens his Sinatra show “Frank: The Man, The Music” at the Palazzo just five nights before his “ENTSpeaks” speech. Mac, just named Magician of the Year at The Magic Castle in Hollywood, is set to perform at Harrah’s through 2019. Anita’s “Fantasy” is now in its 15th year at the Luxor.
Myron helped host more than 450 show performances in the first year of the Smith Center, selling nearly 500,000 tickets. Nicole, who completed Terry Bradshaw’s national tour of “America’s Favorite Dumb Blond,” is married to “Jersey Boys” at Paris cast member Graham Fenton, who plays Frankie Valli.
You know me from “Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous” and this Vegas DeLuxe daily column, but did you know I helped launch People Magazine, “Entertainment Tonight” and the Food Network?
There will be many more surprises to be told by all six of us, so it should make for a second riveting evening.
