Italy and Norway are the first teams through from the UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship qualifying round after dominating Group 9 in the Faroe Islands, while Greece still have hopes of making the elite round.

Italy, bronze medallists in England last December, opened with a 4-0 defeat of the Faroe Islands.Annamaria Serturini, one of seven survivors from Italy's finals squad last season, scored a hat-trick in the first 29 minutes.A fifth-minute goal from Emilie Nautnes gave Norway a 1-0 win against GreeceIngrid Kvernvolden missed a 19th-minute penalty for Norway and Greece had Despoina Chatzinikolaou sent off late on.Matchday two followed the same pattern as the Faroes lost 4-0 and Greece went down 1-0.Norway overcame the home team 4-0, Nautnes among the four scorers.Italy made sure of both their and Norway's progress thanks to Gloria Marinelli's 45th-minute goal against Greece.Serturini missed a late penalty.Italy finished top after defeating Norway 2-0 with goals from Nicole Peressotti and Marta Mascarello.Third place went to Greece, who beat the Faroes 3-0 with Chatzinikolaou – back from suspension – scoring twice.However, only the third-placed team with the best record against the top two across the ten groups will go into the elite round.Next to start is Group 7 on Monday in Latvia, the hosts challenged by Belgium, Wales and Belarus.
