County's Dutch striker - the club's top scorer last season with nine goals - left the club this week for 'personal reasons' and manager Jim McIntyre said: “The club has agreed to terminate his contract.

“He won’t be allowed to move to another club in Scotland. He feels he can’t be at his best here and it is obviously a blow but we have other good players here who can replace him, we have just brought in Martin Woods who came in and set up a goal on Saturday (against St Mirren), so there is cover."

Northern Irish striker Liam Boyce, who has two league goals to his name despite predominantly featuring as a substitute, is another possible replacement although McIntyre has preferred Jake Jervis and Yoann Arquin since taking over at Victoria Park.

McIntyre is definitely without Uros Celcer (hamstring), Tim Dreesen (back) and Rocco Quinn (hip).

Peter Pawlett is in contention for Aberdeen despite suffering a knock in last Wednesday's League Cup quarter-final win over Hamilton.

The midfielder told the club's website: "It's a difficult place to go. Jim McIntyre has come in and they've started to pick up a bit. They are a good team and it will be difficult for us.

"We've got some difficult games coming up but we feel as though we can really make a push and hopefully get right up the league."

Defender Clark Robertson (thigh) remains unavailable, although there is an outside chance skipper Russell Anderson could make the bench after missing 10 matches with his knee problem.
