The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released the name of a man thrown from his car on the Highway 75 onramp Monday night.
OHP said two drivers had a minor accident on Peoria, that's when 43-year-old Von Dale Johnson sped away from the scene. OHP says Johnson was going too fast when he took the westbound I-44 ramp to northbound US-75.
Troopers say he failed to negotiate the curve and went off the roadway to the right around 7:30 Monday night. OHP says Johnson rolled his car one and a half times and was ejected approximately 30-feet from where his car rested.
Troopers say Johnson is in critical condition at a Tulsa hospital.
OHP tells FOX23 they are unsure why Johnson sped away from the initial scene, His seatbelt was not in use.
