OWASSO, Okla. —

Crews are starting to work on the 2015 St. Jude Dream Home.

General Manager of Stone Canyon, Jeff Starkweather and Kirk Murdoch, of EPIC Custom Homes, and volunteers from St. Jude held shovels and broke ground in front of the lot, on Scissortail Court, in Owasso's exclusive Stone Canyon neighborhood.

Unlike last year's ranch-style home, this year EPIC is building a two-story home.

"We’ve got some great partners that are donating some wonderful features. In fact, many of the things inside the house will be more comparable to a million dollar home, in terms of some of the things that will be in the home," said Murdoch.

This is the ninth year for a St. Jude Dream Home in Tulsa, and the sixth year Murdoch and Starkweather have donated their time and resources to make the dream home a reality. FOX23 has been a proud partner.

In June, FOX23 helped give away the $525,000 dream home, just a few streets away from the new dream home, also in Stone Canyon.

For the first time this year, Stone Canyon is donating the entire lot, worth more than $70,000.

"It’s crazy. It’s like we’re growing 2X4s out here, everytime I turn around it’s like 'wow, wow, wow," said Stone Canyon General Manager Susan McKeon.

"Meeting the winners of the home is always a cool experience. The couple that won it last year was a military family and they are a really a nice couple. They’re here living in the home now, living in Stone Canyon. It’s really cool to see all that happen," said Starkweather.

"The first year we did it, we didn’t really know a lot about what we were getting into, but as we’ve done it, and we go back to St. Jude every year, we get more motivated, seeing where the money goes and what great work they’re doing," said Murdoch.

"I get emotional just thinking about it now, but I’m so excited, so proud of our team, to be a part of this. You don’t even know how it pulls at my heart strings," said McKeon.

The 4,000+ square foot home will feature an open floor plan, with four bedrooms, and a large game room upstairs.

The builders tell us there will be plenty of room for entertaining, along with a nice back porch facing Stone Canyon Elementary School.

When it's completed, the new home will likely be worth $600,000.

You can buy tickets to win the 2015 St. Jude Dream Home in March.
