A man was run over and killed by a Tulsa Transit bus this Wednesday night near 31st and South Harvard Avenue.
Officials said the man was either running after the bus or he was backing away from the bus when the back wheels made contact with him and pulled him down.
One witness told FOX23 he believes the man’s clothing got caught in the wheels and that is what caused him to go under.
“The driver told him to step back, and then the bus driver began to take off. That’s when the guy began to start stumbling back, and when he was stepping back, his coveralls got caught up under the back tire, and the bus driver ran him over,” said Reginald Nails.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man still alive, but FOX23 learned he died just moments later.
Tulsa police called it a tragic accident and said the bus driver does not appear to be at fault.
