ADAMANT: Fifa chief Jerome Valcke insists that the rescheduling is 'not destroying football' [REUTERS]
The Fifa Secretary-General made no apology for ripping up British football’s calendar for Qatar 2022.
A total of 100 Premier League games are to be rescheduled following the decision to switch the competition to November and December.
“There will be no compensation. Why are we talking about compensation?”
Jerome Valcke
Frenchman Mr Valcke, 54, said: “There will be no compensation. Why are we talking about compensation?
“The tournament is happening once, we’re not destroying football.
“Why should we apologise to the clubs?”
He insisted seven years was plenty of time to “reorganise” the game.
The former French TV executive also suggested the final would be held just two days before Christmas Day on December 23.
But he admitted: “It’s not perfect, we know that.”
Moving the competition will dodge Qatar’s notoriously scorching summer.
Jerome Valcke really is a smarmy twat isn't he? Blatter's hatchet man. Figo's first act as president should be to sack him.
