MOVIE STAR: Ben Hardy has landed a film role after leaving EastEnders [BBC]
Ben – who played Peter Beale on the BBC soap – has signed up to star in X-Men: Apocalypse.
While his exact role is yet to be confirmed, reports suggest he will play a well-known character in the latest installment of the movie franchise.
The 24-year-old hunk announced he was quitting EastEnders last November after two years of playing the fifth incarnation of the market trader.
He made his on-screen exit last night as fans saw him depart for New Zealand with pregnant girlfriend Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) after he was unable to deal with the revelation that his 11-year-old half-brother Bobby killed his twin Lucy.
Both Ben and Jacqueline – who has just given birth to a baby girl in real life – took to Twitter following the episode to pay tribute to one another.
“Loved working with @benhardy0291 was a pleasure to leave with him! @bbceastenders I will miss you!,” she wrote.
“Ditto! Miss you. Maybe one day Peter will come back to visit Lauren and Pete Jr (that better be his name),” he replied.
